Abstract:

Segmentation
of Organs at Risk for Radiotherapy Planning - Abstract (part 2)

In
radiotherapy planning the anatomical contouring of organs at risk (OAR) with
speed and accuracy is important. In this talk we introduce a method to compute
a semiautomatic 3D segmentation of certain OAR, by approximating a minimal
surface from a network of minimal paths. We briefly discuss some of the
challenges inherent to this method and detail some proposed improvements.
Finally, results are presented for the 3D segmentation of the kidney based on
three contours from the surface of the object.
