Industry Input Required - Training in Mathematical Methods

The Newton Gateway is investigating the possibility of running short intensive training courses (2-3 days) in mathematical areas of relevance to end-users, such as individuals in industry, business and government. We envisage that these courses will provide technical training in the subject matter, but also with the emphasis being very much on how the mathematics is applied in practice. We anticipate developing such courses in partnership with other experts and academic institutions and hope to also make them CPD accredited.

Two possible areas we are considering are optimisation and machine learning, but we would be very interested to receive feedback from our contacts on which areas they perceive to be most urgent for them.
