The University of Cambridge runs a Green Impact Accreditation Scheme to encourage departments and colleges to reduce their environmental impact through a set of clear and achievable criteria related to water, waste, travel, energy, food, etc.

During the past academic year, the Isaac Newton Institute (which the Gateway is part of) has been implementing a number of new actions related to sustainability and environmental impact. We have been successful in achieving a Silver Green Impact Award, to add to the Bronze award received last year. With support from the Environment and Energy team, a number of actions have been implemented - engaging staff and visitors and encouraging simple behavioural changes.
