An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Technical Knowledge Transfer Facilitator, to work across both INI and TGM to provide technical support in relation to the expansion and diversification of the portfolio of activities of the TGM and INI. This will involve scientific and technical exploration and analysis of the research programmes and related activity, in particular the translation and dissemination of scientific details and information to a broader audience.

The post holder will work with the TGM to develop links between the mathematics that takes place at the Institute, and at the University of Cambridge and elsewhere, and external partners and stakeholders, including those from industry and commerce, policy makers and research funding bodies including the Research Councils. The role will involve helping to initiate and maintain connections between mathematical scientists and potential users of mathematics, which is fundamental to the knowledge exchange and impact remit of the TGM. The postholder will also share responsibility for uncovering any possible industrial or commercial areas that have relevance to the ongoing TGM and INI activities and research programmes.

Applicants will need to have a degree in the mathematical sciences (or a cognate discipline), along with a good pass English GCSE or equivalent. A proven track record of exploration and analysis of scientific information, and the ability to be able to communicate complex information to a diverse audience is essential. The post holder will need excellent interpersonal skills with a confident and pro-active approach to dealing with people at all levels of seniority. The post holder will be required to work independently on their own initiative, as well as being part of a team.
